Caring for Children in the Community (CCC) is a representative community study of 920 children and adolescents (aged 9-18) growing up in four adjacent counties that are part of a single area mental health program in North Carolina. We finished interviewing participants (and their parents) for a third time in March of 2001. The original funding for this study from NIMH supported the measurement of psychopathology, family functioning, and service use. From the second wave of data collection, we have also had funding from NHLBI to add measures of cardiovascular function (blood pressure and heart rate levels and reactivity). Interviewing for the study has been completed.
